20th Annual AT&T Town Point Virginia Wine Festival: Updated November 13, 2007
If you're asking whats the big deal then you need to purchase your tickets, prepare a picnic basket with some fruit, a couple of French baguette's and an assortment of good cheese and get to Town Point Park in Downtown Norfolk on October 20th or 21st. Even if you're not a wine person it's a great day out with friends and you're sure to make new friends. I was introduced to this yearly ritual by my friend Jessica a few years back and had a blast my first time. Last year I took my friend Kei Kei for the first time and she had a great time. I look forward to this mainly because as we've gotten older people have gotten married or started new relationships, moved away or had kids. Naturally it changes the amount of time we get to spend with each other so it more than the opportunity to get a little tipsy. That being said every year there's a stand out wine, last year it was Raspberry Beret. What will it be in 2007? Pass the word along, get a group of friends and or family together and start a new yearly ritual. See you there!
I didnt take a fraction of the pictures I wanted to take this year but here are what I have. I had the best time this year I think I've had since my first time attending. I saw my girl Jessica (and her girls) and a mutual friend of ours Theresa and Jessicas husband Dave. We all used to work together, Dave is the last man standing from that place, GOD BLESS HIM. Jess is the one who introduced me to the Wine Festival almost 10 years ago and I love her eternally for it. I saw a couple of my current coworkers and it was neat to know that were all pretty much the same outside of work that were are at work. Amy and her new "friend" were there also and from what she told me she not only saw the food on my plate but in my mouth (big and my trap is that's not a surprise). She also said I was hesitant about sharing my scallops with here (no shocker if I've been cocktailing STAY AWAY FROM MY FOOD). And last but not least I saw my girl Jo. The past 2 years Jo's hooked me up for my BDay with tickets to the Wine Fest. I have some of the best freinds in the world and I know that I am truly BLESSED to have each of them in my life. It's been a challenging transition latley because all of my freinds have in some combination or another moved away, got married & had kids or started new relationships but I took the day for what it was and not what I wanted it to be and I had the best day I've had in months. I even managed to survive the car ride back home and my Dad not realize HOW MUCH I enjoyed the day. Alright guys same Bat time same Bat channel, SEE YA NEXT YEAR!!

YOU KNOW IT! Preach on brotha! I like your blog Coley-cole! Just like you said... the WineFest is something that I am dedicated to each year. It's a definite event that I know I will go to and have fun with friends... regardless of how many kids I now have or where I'm living. Damn, I'm traveling over an hour and a half away to go and I have invited my friend Lisa (high school chum) and she's invited another friend from The Ville (Kempsville). It's going to be a blast. And Lisa is coming from Tampa, FL!! WOW! It's not that we are "Wine-Os" (ok how do you spell that?), we just have an excuse to call the grandparents to babysit, get a hotel and just let loose (for once this year)! Wild horses couldn't stop me... unless one of the horses looked like Johnny Depp and wanted to take me for a ride..... ok anyway. I am really looking forward to seeing you Coley and reuniting with a friend or meeting a new one. Once you have hit a few tents... making friends is like Kindergarten again! =) See ya soon!!
