Something In The Water Does Not Compute: Thought's & Prayers for Jeff DBinski
I often joke that Jeff and I are different versions of Brainiac. For those of you who don't read DC Cominc's, Brainiac is a cyborg/humanoid who one of Superman's primary foes. Brainiac has a hunger for all types of knowledge and has mastered all things computers and digital yet he does not understand nor can he process human emotion. Throughout the years different versions of Brainiac have been introduced with varying grasp of emotions. Well last night something inevitable was thrown into Jeff's programming, Jeff's mom passed away after a lengthy fight against cancer. Immediatley some people would have cried and experienced the emotions that we think are correct or proper for such and event, but Jeff didn't. I reminded him that we are Brainiacs and our programming doesn't process things like normal (Jeff and I long ago embraced our oddities, weirdness and all the other adjectives normal people use to describe us) peoples does, which is why our twisted friendship works.
The thing that I love about Jeff is that I didn't need to say the things that people feel they need/have to say in these situations. The "I'm sorry", "are you ok" or "it'll get better", not necessary. All he needed was someone to listen and know that anything he needed they'd do.
Jeff is has a long drive home to Florida today so wish him a safe trip. If you feel inclined send your PRAYERS and thoughts to him and his family (I emphasized prayers for a reason and Jeff knows why).
If you'd like to send Jeff a message his email address is: Jeff@myexerciseinfutility.com
Take care Demon'ski! I guess I'll have to come to NYC and let you scream at me for a few days when you get back. And I promise to only scream back 1/2 as much as I normally would.
